Fun Fact: These Blogs Almost Never Happened

Hey Warriors,
Confession time: none of these blogs were supposed to see the light of day.
I wrote them, sure, late at night, in hospital rooms, between battery changes, but they just sat there. Collecting dust. Judging me every time I opened my laptop like, “So… are you ever gonna post us or nah?”
I had a whole archive (seriously, about 20 and a bunch of incomplete thoughts!) just waiting. But I kept stalling because… well, sharing your actual life is kind of scary. Some of these posts are deeply personal, the raw, messy, heart-on-the-table kind. Others are inspired by conversations with my family, caregivers, and fellow LVAD warriors.
And honestly? I was nervous. Nervous that my story would be too much. Nervous that my humor wouldn’t land. Nervous that you’d see the wires, the alarms, the chaos, and think, “This girl is doing a lot.”
But here’s what flipped the switch for me: realizing someone out there needs this. Someone needs to feel seen, to laugh at the madness, to cry and say, “Same.” Someone needs to know they aren’t the only one Googling medical terms at 2 a.m.
So here we are, the blogs are out of the drafts and breathing fresh air.
And just for fun: yes, all those little cartoon characters you see around here? They’re actually me. Real pictures, just turned into animated versions because… why not? When you live in a house full of nerds, becoming your own cartoon character is pretty much the dream.
“Someone needs to feel seen, to laugh at the madness, to cry and say, ‘Same.’”
With Heart,
💙 Phoenix
